Western Australian Premium Hardwoods specialize in hardwood Tongue & Groove flooring of the highest quality. Unlike some Australian companies who have a large profile in the USA, we insist that no raw timber is sourced from timber mills that use clear-felled billets. All lumber selected for the manufacture of flooring is from either logs salvaged from the forest floor, or recycled from the demolition of old buildings from throughout Western Australia.

• Jarrah flooring is one of the most durable hardwood floors available. They didn't pave the streets of London with Jarrah for nothing!! Colors range from pinks & oranges through to reds & browns.

• Blackbutt is closely related to Jarrah & has many similar properties & similar grain patterns. Colors range from golden honey, through to light browns.

• Marri is similar in color to Blackbutt. Interestingly, while highly figured grain is rare in Jarrah & Blackbutt, Marri tends to have figured grain more often than not. The golden hue from this timber has to be seen to be believed.

Our furniture making experience has found that often a contrast in color between floor & furniture quite often produces the best results. If you are planning a Jarrah floor it is worth considering blonde wood furniture. As an example a Jarrah table on a Jarrah floor can make your room appear quite dark. Replace that table with a Marri piece & it can appear as though somebody drew the curtains!!
